KK Nayak Global Inclusive Disaster Management Conference

A disaster, natural or industrial, can happen anytime. Natural disasters may be anything caused by the forces of nature like a tsunami, flood, hurricane, etc. Industrial disasters are those caused by negligence on the part of management and the workforce. An example of an industrial disaster that happened in Madhya Pradesh, India is the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, the effects of which are being seen even today in the genetic composition of local residents’ future generations.

As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure”, be forewarned and prepared to face disasters always helps in saving precious human life and property. Giving compensation to the families of disaster victims fails to achieve anything tangible. Instead, our nation and citizens would be better off by furthering research in the field of Disaster Management. A government study of 10 major disasters in the past decade in India has revealed that damages caused by such natural hazards have resulted in losses that account for as high as 66% of all public-sector losses. The country needs a strong and reliable Disaster Management System in place.

Disaster Management can be defined as the organization and management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian aspects of emergencies, in particular, preparedness, response, and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters.To further this objective, a steering and technical committee comprising of HSE leaders from India and abroad has been set up. This committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of hosting a mega-event focusing on disaster preparedness and ways to mitigate after-effects of natural and industrial disasters. Mr. K K Nayak, General Manager HSE- Corporate at Vedanta Ltd (Cairn Oil & Gas) is also a core member of the steering committee, for he strongly believes in the concept of Sustainable Development.


Global Inclusive Disaster Management Conference (GiDMC), organized by iCONEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd is a global event scheduled to take place on the 10th and 11th of July, 2018 at Le Meridian, New Delhi. iCONEX Exhibitions has been promoting Health, Environmental, Safety, and Sustainability Initiatives globally, thus taking a step ahead towards sustainable development. The event is being held with support from Indian PSUs including Cairn India, Tata Motors and more. GiDMC is the first event of its kind towards inclusive disaster management. Attendees can expect discussions highlighting “How better can we be prepared for Disasters” with respect to technologies, policies, frameworks, and partnerships. The Global Inclusive Disaster Management Conference aims to bring policymakers, technology providers, research institutions, resilience officers and HSE practitioners onto a common platform to bridge the knowledge gap.

Mr. Khitish Kumar Nayak is Responsible for Recruitment of senior & junior oil field personnel in a most cost-effective manner for Drilling & work over operations & optimum utilization of Omani & Expat manpower. Had coordinated & got approved HR manual in Arabic as per law in the country in Sultanate of Oman. Has an excellent relationship with Ministry of manpower, OPAL which led to achieving labor clearances, Expat visas for all operational & support manpower on time.

Khitish Kumar Nayak Professional Experience 28 Years in India & Abroad.

Mr. Khitish Kumar Nayak General Manager – Production & Operations ( Rajasthan operations ) of Cairn India Ltd wef 1st July 15 ( & continuing )  reporting to Director, SBU II – Rajasthan operations. Main assignment is production enhancement (optimization ) & OPEX reduction . Contributed significantly to improving team efficiency, quicker execution of projects which led to a reduction of OPEX in SBU II. Also executed many cost saving, efficient contracts like crude trucking contracts, NI to Bhagyam pipelines, RSEB power, GEG installation etc ahead of time. My deep personal involvement with all junior & senior team members helps in faster execution & bringing more efficiency in everything. Labor & Statutory compliance has improved significantly because of my personal intervention in SBU II. Always encourage out of the box thinking from team & outside stakeholders and try to implement if it brings value to the company. I have demonstrated my leadership capabilities in managing people, managing change etc. Recently Completed & scored the highest percentage of IIM Lucknow training  “ Finance for Decision Making “ for very senior Executives from 21st Nov to 25th Nov 16

Tried to sort out many old issues with minimum differences with ONGC, other JV partners  DGH & Govt. Was also involved partly in South Africa offshore block, outstanding cash calls from ROS, Videocon in 2014/ 15, settling the dispute with ONGC for OTS charges of our Yannam facility, getting  99% of outstanding cash calls from ONGC for Nagalanka Exploration phase by Cairn. Have an excellent relationship with Chief Labor commissioner, Govt of India & his other regional labor commissioners, DGMS, Dhanbad etc.

 professionals. Khitish Kumar Nayak is such a professional
 who has helped various big businesses grabbing desired
 success. He delivered tangible results in majority of companies during leadership roles ( Last 20 years out of his 28 years Career ) .
Early Life of K K Nayak was born on 28 August, 1966 in Indian State of Odisha.
 After completing his I Sc from Ravenshaw college ( 110 years old college from British Time ) , he enrolled himself in
 one of the most reputed Engineering Colleges in the state
 called VSSUT ( Now Autonomous university ), which was also known as UCE. It is situated at
 Burla, Sambalpur in the Indian state of Odisha. He earned
 his B. Tech degree from college in June 1988. He was
 considered among the top students in his
 college.His Career having earned his
 engineering degree from oldest & most reputed engineering
 colleges in Odisha, K K Nayak started working as
 an executive trainee in OIL INDIA LTD ( At Duliajan , Assam ). He went under
 that drilling from 1988 to 89. It was his first
 job.Having gained a year of experience, he
 started working for various other big brands in the
 industry. By passing years, he has developed an insight
 about accomplishing different types of projects especially
 related to oil and gas. Now, he has earned great experience
 in Operations , project management, strategy planning, business
 strategies & development and how to coordinate projects.
 However, he started his life journey from a small city in
 India, but soon he grabbed chance to visit overseas. He
 worked many years in abroad. Currently this professional
 with around 28 years of experience & based at
 Gurgaon. Out of his 28 years , he has spent 12 to 13 years in most difficult places in North East , where he had demonstrated outstanding managerial capabilities & Technical Acumen
